PT. Supreme Energy was established in 2007. The company was created by professionals with extensive experience and knowledge of the energy business in Indonesia who have been very active and directly involved in the oil & gas industry and in geothermal development and operations in Indonesia for the past 40 years. Supreme Energy signed PPAs with PLN in 2012 for the development of the three geothermal working areas, and one of them is PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap.
PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (SERD) was established in 2008 as the holder of Geothermal License for Rantau Dedap Geothermal Working Area (WKP), located in Lahat Regency, Muara Enim Regency and Pagar Alam City, South Sumatera. At the beginning, Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap is a consortium of 3 companies: PT Supreme Energy, Marubeni (a company based in Japan) and ENGIE (a company based in France). On December 2017, Tohoku Electric Power Co. Inc. (a company based in Japan) joined the consortium. The project is located within the protection forest area of Bukti Jambul Gunung Patah surrounded by the agrarian life of local communities. The heat source is located at Bukit Besar and Anak Bukit Besar from intrusion that is buried in the caldera ring fracture zone. SERD started its civil construction in early January 2013 and completed ± 42 km of its access road. In 2015 SERD has completed 6 drilling wells: RD-B1, RD-B2, RD-C1, RD-I1, RD-I2, RD-C2, and in 2016 completed the Feasibility Study confirming 92 MW (gross) proven reserve capacity. For phase 1, 86 MW (net) of geothermal power plant will be developed with Required COD is in 2020.
SERD has been drilling 13 exploitation wells and well-testing been conducted for each wells. For the civil works, the EPC contractors began the procurement process of critical equipment for the power plant, and reinforcing and concrete casting work for the drill foundation on the work of the Steam Gathering System. Recently, SERD has conducted mobilization for Power Plan equipment.
